Increase Your Home Value Through Pool Remodeling

By Catalina Nielsen

Spending time in the water during the summer is a lot of fun. But over time things like liners, ladders, and filters can become worn and need to be replaced. While you are making those replacements you might want to consider having a complete some swimming pool remodeling.

One thing to do is to expand the pool rectangle. Instead of having a cement rectangle filled with water, you may expand the area by giving it curves and a terrain change. You can as well soften the geometric edges out by adding a rounded spa, surrounding the space with faux rocks, and even adding a waterfall.

The things that go into a remodel process can be anything that changes the way the area looks. You could do something as simple as redoing the lining. That would not be a huge project but it would change the appearance to some extent.

Another sensitive issue is financing. You will also have to think about how you will pay for your repairs. Some options are cash, home equity loan or financing through a bank. Deciding upon a dollar amount that you feel comfortable with is crucial so that you can let contractors know your budget limits.

There are more drastic or extreme swimming pool remodeling options though. You might want to add a deck to the area. Instead of having just a concrete walk way circling the facility you can have a nice area to lounge on when you do not want to spend time in the water. Not only can you sit and soak up some sun, you can enjoy a nice cook out on a grill and eating out on a patio set. It can be a relaxing way to enjoy the outdoors without spending time in the water.

Another way to bump up the ambiance of your backyard is to add a sound system. Program your sound system with the sounds of drums, ukuleles, and vocal Hawaiian music and hardwired speakers to play on your back porch. Pick up a rattan bar with matching bar stools and position them under your covered patio near the entrance of your facility. Stock your pool bar with one or more ice bucket, plastic made glassware and a sizable supply of those tiny paper umbrellas which can turn an ordinary drink into one that seems exotic. Also try to incorporate some wind chimes and seashells of different sizes.

You can add a waterfall to help circulate water in your system. This will not just help with improving your water quality but it will also make the area look much more serene. One can as well choose to add a fountain in the end that can also help circulate water and allow you to enjoy the calming sounds as you lounge on the new deck.

You do not have to settle for a boring backyard. By embarking on a full pool remodeling task and enhancing your landscape decorations, anyone can create his own tropical paradise. Imagine such a yard waiting outside the doorstep of your sliding glass door, certainly you will not have to fly far away just to have a good time.
