Coaching A Little League San Francisco

By Marcia Marks

For any coach, it is sometimes harder to coach a team of children as compared to a team of full grown adults or a group of teens. Now if one is going to be a coach of children, then he has to make sure to change his methods of coaching in order to adapt to the thought pattern of the kids. So when coaching a little league san francisco team, these tips may be of great help.

Now when one teaches kids, he has to make sure he has clear rules. If kids would see that there are a clear set of rules to follow, then most likely they would listen to the one who made them. Kids respect authority if the coach would prove to the kids that he is someone who should be respected.

The first lesson should always be about hitting because the way a person uses the bat to hit the ball will be the basis on moving on to the next base. The coach has to decide on who the power hitters are and make them the front line when it comes to batting. However, he must also teach everyone how to bat properly just in case.

When kids start playing baseball, most of them would have the fear that they might get hit by the heavy ball. So for example, when a ball is being pitched to one of the batters, he will be afraid to hit because he has a fear that he might get hit in the process. In order to address this, the coach has to assure him that if he does get it, the pain will go away after running.

Pitching is a very important aspect in baseball because a good pitcher will be able to stop the opponent from moving to next base. That is why it is very important for a coach to teach pitchers how to throw the ball accurately. There are such pitches that are known as the straight ball, the curve ball, and many more.

Take note that it is actually possible for another team to steal a base. Now in the little league, there are stricter rules when it comes to leading off a base as compared to regular baseball. That is why the coach has to think of more creative ways in order to steal bases from the opponent.

Now with regard to the rules, here is just an idea that the coaches should give to the players. First, all players are supposed to play a minimum of three innings with all players having to step up in the batting position at least once. Another thing to take note of is that there is a maximum number of times a pitcher can pitch.

So as one can see, coaching little league san francisco is pretty much the same as coaching the regular league but with a few differences. The major difference between the two would be the methods of teaching that the coach has to use. The coach has to be extra patient when teaching children because children do not understand things as fast as adults.
