How To Receive A Booking For Fishing Trips

By Freida Michael

When you are working at a boat charter company, then you should already know how important it is to find lots of bookings. This is mainly because the main source of profit the business has is the payment of the groups that come to fish. When there are more clients coming to this business, it will make the business more successful.

When you are the one handling the bookings, then you need to pay attention to some details. These are the details that will allow you to handle the fishing trips Hyannis with ease. You can also determine a lot of things regarding the client through the details you can get from them during the booking. Here are some of the details one must learn beforehand.

The first thing you have to know is the person placing the booking. If they are first-time customers, then you have to pay close attention to how they enjoy the activity. After all, you want to get them hooked and used to this activity. If they are repeat customers, then you have to look into their previous experience and how you can serve them better.

Another thing to ask the said person is the preferred date of this trip. They should already have a date in mind for this activity. On your part, you must ensure that there are no double bookings. If the date is filled already, ask them if they have an alternative date. You can also suggest to them an alternative date.

The number of people who will be coming for the trip will affect your preparations so ask about it as well. As much as possible, you must match up the number of staff on the boat, safety equipment, packed meals, and other stuff with the number of people coming for the said trip. This is essential for a better experience.

Know the experience level of this group. The group can be composed of people who are total newbies when it comes to this activity. You need to help them get used to this activity during this first trip. If they are all experienced, then they might need minimal supervision. If this group is a mix, then you have to act accordingly.

Ask them if they prefer to book for a half-day trip or a full-day trip. For the experienced fishers, they might want to prefer the full-day trip to experience the activity much better. However, for the first-time fishers, it is highly recommended for them to go about this for only half a day. This should be enough for them.

Ask the person doing the booking if they have any suggestions or requests when it comes to the said trip. They might want to have a certain captain drive the boat for them or if they might have a certain spot they want to go to. Their suggestions or requests should be prioritized if they are possible.

Verify that the payment has been made before you go ahead with the preparations for the said booking. There is a down payment clients have to pay when placing a booking, after all. This is a guarantee from the clients that they will go ahead with the booking no matter what.
