The obstacles provided will vary depending on the event that you want to participate in. With a little preparation you should be able to take on the challenge.

Do not choose an event just because it is the most popular. Before joining, you also have to consider how fit you actually are and how tough the event is. If you are just starting to get fit, then it will not be wise to participate in an event that is well known to be tough on everyone. Be realistic about your choices.

Find out what kind of activities are involved. Organizers will usually prepare materials for all those who want to take part. This will give you the details you need. There are different kind of work outs that you may have to include. When the race is long, you have to include incorporate activities that will improve your endurance. If it involves carrying weights and pulling up your body over obstacles, then you have to increase your strength. If you have to cross narrow places, then do activities that will make your balance better.

If you are really serious about this, then consider hiring a professional trainer. These individuals can help you achieve the level of fitness you need for the event. You should also consider having a healthier diet. Given that you want to make your body leaner and stronger, adequate and proper nutrition is certainly needed.
