What To Expect From Horseware Ireland

By Jayne Rutledge

Established in 1985 horseware Ireland has set the standard for the horseware industry leaving competitors with only the option to copy their work and ideas. Proprietors Tom and Carol MacGuiness have a company policy that demands innovation and constant review of products they create. This policy has lead to many improvements in the original rug created for horses.

The first product to be produced was the Rambo rug, designed to keep the horses dry and warm as well as not slip around on them or cause them to sweat excessively. By 1996 they were leading the industry in production and sales of turnout rugs. The success of their products lead them to establish new standards for the industry around the world.

The bottom line policy of this company is constant review and innovative thinking. They are constantly improving their products to make them more consumer and horse friendly. Some improvements have presented themselves as a new line of product such as wugs. They differ from the rugs in that they are worn outside as well as inside the barn. The construction and materials are designed for use in different climates and terrains.

They have made improvements that consist of higher neck covers, front clasps to stop sliding, head and tail guards and light weight rugs designed to keep flies and other pests off of the animal. The variety of different fabrics and fillers that are used will keep your horse comfortable regardless of where you live.

The fabrics and fillers they developed for their products are designed to recover their fullness should the horse decide to roll on the ground and flatten them. The process of thermo-bonding allows for the fabric to return to its original form. This helps to retain the warmth of the cover by creating air circulation around the horse. They also developed a system of bonding fabric with water resistant components to keep the animal dry and the fabric soft and warm.

One of their best innovations concerns the nanotech moisture management system. This system chemically bonds water repelling molecules to fabric molecules to create a fabric that repels water and allows body moisture and water vapor to pass freely through it. This process allows for a much better feel to the fabric because it is not a surface applied substance designed to repel water.

This company has spent over twenty five years perfecting their products. Because of their dedicated attention to detail they have been voted Britain's best turnout rug for nine consecutive years and the rhino stable rug has been voted best for five years running. They also developed a line of clothing for horse owners and riders that has become very popular in the community.

Because they have an earth friendly attitude Horseware Ireland uses only wind power to run their factory in Ireland. This company has been in business for twenty five years and during that time has risen to the top of their industry setting standards for everyone to follow. This can only mean a better life for horses and people alike.
