Short Introductory To Underwater Photography

By Rosella Campbell

If this is something that has always fascinated you, then feel free to know more about it with the use of this article. With the help of this source, nothing could ever go wrong for you. You will just have to take its tips in mind whenever you will be asked to conduct this state of the art set up. So, take down notes if possible.

First, you are required to be very specific with the final location of the shoot. You also have to know that underwater photography is best done in still waters. Thus, be able to scout for the nearest swimming pools in your area. Have them shortlisted based on your budget and the type of session that you will be having.

Second, you have to pay attention to the light that you would be getting. If you are going to rely on natural light, then you are advised to take pictures on a sunny day especially in the afternoon. This would give you all the light that you need to create scenes that would put anybody in awe.

Third, try your best to stay out of the water. This may sound like a very ironic step but the best effects are actually available in that kind of set up. So, if you have no business of getting all wet and sticky, then make use of what you have. Explore on the beams being given by the sun for you to increase your versatility at the same time.

Also, you need to have a new perspective when it comes to close proximity. This feature may not be that cool when you are on land but you will certainly be amazed of the quality of the pictures that it can give to you when you are on water. The effects are completely different from each other that you will be glad that you gave it a try.

Moreover, try to know an acrobat move or two. Take note that you are not required to be a gymnast. You will just need to have more flexibility so that bending and fitting yourself into tight spots if you are in an underground cave will only be a piece of cake for you. So, start making those stretches from now on.

You will have to be more knowledgeable with bubbles as well. They may not occupy your pictures most of the time but they can be a great source of experiment. They can be a perfect addition to your images especially if your model is not capable of giving you the emotion that you wish to have in your project.

If you would be able to bring props into the shoot, then the better. You can use them to make your images look more realistic. They would also add color and interest into your creations so that other people would have no choice but to give them the time of the day.

Overall, keep practicing. This may be a new arena for you but that does not mean that you would never be able to find your way through it. You would just have to get used to those waves everyday.
