Understanding The Use Of Firearms Like The Rem 700

By Phyllis Schroeder

Some people are against the use of firearms while others are for it. When it comes to these types of debates, it important to look at both sides of the issue so that one could have a clear view of the reasons or rationale behind both. This article will look at how people understand the use of firearms like the Rem 700 in relation to the society they live in.

For some people, the thrill of the hunt is a big reason as to why they own a weapon of some sort. They see this pastime as a form of recreation and they take pleasure in being outdoors and competing with animals of various kinds. While this is exciting for these individuals, for others it is not the capturing of animals that excites them.

There are a number of sporting events where shooting sports are held. One of these is the Olympics and there are many people who participate because of the discipline and skill that is needed to be successful. The participant has to be able to hit the target as exact as they possibly can. This means that one has to be accurate and fast and the same time.

Self-defense is another main reason for the ownership of firearms. Some people practice using the weapons they own on a regular basis because they want to be able to protect themselves and their families. They might also live in the woods or mountainous areas and need to be able to defend themselves against wild animals that might be very dangerous.

However, there are those who question the reasons one might have for owning a gun. They are concerned about the increase in violence they hear about mainly in the cities where there are gangs and other threats. They desire to live in a city that is safe and free from crime, so they believe that the best solution is to get rid of the guns.

Safety is another concern for many people who are against the possession of any weapon. They are concern about their loved ones in the home who might get hurt accidentally if they are in the presence of a firearm. For example, a family member who is suicidal might decide to take their own life using a gun that they could find somewhere in the house.

Others look at the fact that certain individuals are only too excited to use their firearms to solve problems. If someone disagrees with them in any way, or they see someone as a perceived threat, they are ready to use their weapon, even though it is not necessary. If the only way a person can solve a problem is through violence, this is a problem for everyone else in the society.

The reasons a person might have for not owning a firearm or for owning one vary for a number of reasons. There are a number of place in the world that have rules and regulations concerning gun control, but they all differ from each other on one level or another. So there will always be dividing lines concerning what policies should be enforced.
