The country is probably best known for its temples. Near the outskirts of Siem city the Angkor Archaeological Park is most certainly a place to visit. There are many ruins to see but, out of all the temples Angkor Wat is the largest. The Khmer civilization still has the modern day world in awe of its construction style and the jungle and large trees growing around the stone work makes the place mystical.

The largest city in Cambodia is also its capital, Phnom Penh. The French once colonized Cambodia and there is still a presence in some of the buildings in the south of the city. Exploring the centre there are many unique market stalls, eateries and shops. This is a wealthy city with and the city folk live to the north of the city.

Take the time to visit Sihanoukville. Unwind and relax on the beach or enjoy diving, fishing or swimming in the warm sea. The town is surrounded by the Bay of Thailand and there are many unspoiled islands that can be explored from here.

Tours to the north of the country lead you past waterfalls and streams. The bamboo jungles and grassland give opportunities to see the amazing wildlife that live here. Elephants and tigers roam around the Virachey National Park and there are small villages that welcome visitors. Hidden in the Ratanakiri forest is a volcanic lake called Yeak laom. A refreshing swim can be followed by light lunch and a chance to relax.

Crocodiles, fish and rare breeds of birds are found in the fresh water lake, Boeung Tonle Sap. The people of the area live in floating villages where the buildings rise above the water on stilts. It is a great place to mix with the locals and enjoy the culture.

Traveling light on a tour is essential. It is best to have one change of clothes and toiletries. Taking personal riding gear is not a necessity, but a good idea. After a long days riding accommodation is provided. Basic guesthouses and family homes are clean and welcoming.

Taking a dirt bike tours Cambodia is enjoyable and fun, but the country is dominated by its weather. There are alternating seasons of wet and dry periods. The tropical country does not get cold however, the months May to September can be very wet.
